No person will drive any Motor Vehicle and no owner of Motor Vehicle will cause or permit the vehicle to be driven in any public place or any other place, unless the vehicle is registered.  The registration number is generated by the system in alphabetical order as per the applicants name, however owner may apply for reservation of special number.
Reservation of special Number is a process of assigning a Registration number on the choice of the owner instead of assigning the number in the routine series by collecting some additional fees based on the  number he selects.

a)    Requirements for Reservation of Special Number:

•    Form-RRMA- application for reservation of Special Number.
•    Form-RRMTA – for the applicants who participate in auction for the same special number in bidding process.
•    Tax payments receipt or Eseva Tax payment receipt or Temporary Registration if available.
•    The special number selected from the available list of 1000 numbers listed on the notice board excluding the numbers marked as ® reserved numbers.
•    The applicant has to prepare the Demand Draft for the adequate fees against the Special Number available for reservation as per the APMV Act and Rules and service charge along with the application and should drop in the Drop Box before 1 P.M.
Note:
•    The Drop Box will be opened after 1 P.M. and the applications received will be sorted as per the number of applicants for each Special Number the details are verified.
•    If only one application received for special number so requested and is not an already reserved number then the number is directly reserved to the vehicle for which the applicant has applied and a proceeding confirming the reservation of special number is generated and given to the applicant.
•    If there are more than one applicant requesting for the same number they have to fill the application in Form RRMTA with a demand draft not less than the adequate fees against the Special Number and should submit the Demand Draft in a sealed envelop to the Registering Authority for bidding process.
•    Bid amount details of all the bidders need to entered into the system and the system assigns the reserved number to the highest successful bidder.
•    In case of unsuccessful bid the amount paid by the participant will be returned.
•    In case of absence of participation the amount paid for reservation of special number will be forfeited.
•    The special numbers so reserved are valid for 15 days from the date of issue.
•    If the vehicle is not registered within 15 days the number so reserved is automatically get cancelled.
•    The same process for reservation is to be followed for vehicles from other state and converted vehicles.

b)    Requirements for reservation of number in Current/ Tatkaal Scheme:
•    The applicant should have already applied for registration of his vehicle in the office on the day of application for Current/Tatkaal Scheme.
•    The applicant has to choose Current number in the available list of Current number generation report before the registering Authority. Form-RRMA- application for reservation of Current/Tatkaal Number.
•    Form-RRMTA – for the applicants who participate in auction for the same Current/Tatkaal in bidding process.
•    The applicant has to prepare the Demand Draft for the adequate fees against the Current/Tatkaal Number available for reservation as per the APMV Act and Rules and service charge along with the application.
•    If there are more than one applicant requesting for the same number they have to fill the application in Form RRMTA with a demand draft not less than the adequate fees against the Current/Tatkaal Number and should submit the Demand Draft in a sealed envelop to the Registering Authority for bidding process.
